Installing the Adobe SVG Viewer

Galactic Pathways is played in a web browser using SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics). You do not need to purchase a client program for your computer, but you will need to install the free Adobe SVG Viewer 3.x.

The following lists instructions for how to install the Adobe SVG Viewer 3.x on Windows, MacOS X and Linux.

Installing the Adobe SVG Viewer for Windows with Internet Explorer

1. The first time you view the login page, you will be asked if you want to install the Adobe SVG Viewer. Click Yes to install.
2. If you select No, you will need to Download and run the Adobe SVG Viewer 3.x installer (the file will be called SVGView.exe).

Installing the Adobe SVG Viewer for MacOS

1. Download the Adobe SVG Viewer 3.x installer (the file will be called SVGViewCarbon.bin)
2. Run the installer

Installing the Adobe SVG Viewer for Windows with Mozilla/Firefox

1. Download the Adobe SVG Viewer 3.x installer (the file will be called SVGView.exe)
2. Run the installer
3. Copy NPSVG3.dll and NPSVG3.zip to Firefox’s plugin folder.

• Note 1: NPSVG3.dll and NPSVG3.zip on Windows XP will probably be located at: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\SVG Viewer 3.0\Plugins.
• Note 2: Firefox’s plugin folder will probably be located at C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins.

Installing the Adobe SVG Viewer for Linux with Mozilla/Firefox

1. Download the Adobe SVG Viewer 3.x installer
2. Close any applications using any version of Adobe SVG Viewer.
3. As root, extract the contents of the installation package and run the script adobesvg-3.01/install.sh. Adobe recommends that you extract the files in /usr/local, although other locations may work.
4. Copy libNPSVG3.so to your Mozilla plugins directory.

• Note: It has been reported that if the LC_NUMERIC variable is not set to en_EN, that this plugin may not work correctly.
