Pathways Guide
Infrastructure Building
Before you can find your path in the galaxy, your empire needs
to build infrastructure to support itself. This involves building
and staffing improvements that produce food, energy and materials
to run your operations.
After putting your farmers in your Raw Farmland, you
will soon have new settlers to train. Your first order
of business is to maximize production at your planet
by putting 2 Miners, 2 Materials Workers and 2
Construction Workers to work in their respective
improvements.
While training your initial workforce, you should get
your production line going and begin producing
Construction Material to build new improvements. This
can be done by mining Ore and processing it in the
Materials Workshop. Once you have Construction
Material, it should be stored in the Construction
Area.
You have many improvements to build, but the first
should be a Nuclear Generator to produce power for
more advanced improvements. A Nuclear Generator
requires Refined Uranium to produce power. While
building your Nuclear Generator, you need to think
about where you will get Refined Uranium. You can
choose to mine Uranium and process it into Refined
Uranium, but then you won’t be making Construction
Material anymore. Thus you need to decide what to
focus on. You should produce either Refined Uranium
or Construction Material and then find another empire
to buy the other item from. You could also choose to
switch your production between the two in an attempt
to do everything yourself, but this is quite
difficult to do.
After building a Nuclear Generator and training a
Power Engineer to staff it, you should then build the
upgrades for your production improvements.
Specifically these are Mining Equipment, Materials
Plant, and Construction Yard improvements.
While you are building these improvements, you will
reach the maximum population that can be supported
with Raw Farmland (10 units). When appropriate, you
should build Farmland so you can grow your population.
Farmland can support up to 35 units. Be careful not to produce too
much food. You don’t want to have settlers with nothing to do. Once
you have upgraded your initial improvements you will be ready to
choose your path.
